Convention 2017 – Rangitikei
Irises in the Rangitikei
Date Held: Friday 3 to Monday 6 November 2017
Location: Copthorne Hotel, 110 Fitzherbert Avenue Palmerston North
Guest speaker: Thomas Johnson, Iris hybridiser from Mid-America Iris Garden, Oregon.
Garden tours were held Saturday and Monday, including plant sales. In-house Iris day Sunday, including Judging workshop, AGM and Auction.
The Rangitikei Iris Group consists mainly of members from Palmerston North and, for this reason, the Convention was based in Palmerston North. However, the first day of Convention was spent mainly in the Rangitikei area enjoying the distinctive countryside and clay cliffs on the Rangitikei River.
