Apogon Iris – Beardless
There is a growing interest in the non bearded irises. Including these in your garden will extend the flowering season over almost the whole year. From very tall to very small, from those that like the wet to those that like the dry and from those that like the sun to those that like the shade.
Nearly all the beardless irises have some other distinguishing feature in place of the beard. It may be a coloured patch with complicated patterns, or a brightly coloured signal that may appear as a striking star.
Included here are Pacific Coast Irises, Louisianas, Spurias, Siberians, Japanese, Species and other irises.
Check out the “Eyeshadow’ iris on the Species Hybrids iris page, they are gorgeous.
