Convention 2026

The Central Otago Iris Group is proud to invite you to New Zealand Iris Convention - Friday 6 November to Monday 9 November

Community House, 14-20 Centennial Avenue, Alexandra

Central Otago is  a rugged land  with a long and proud history. Early Pakeha roamed the hills looking for gold which they found in abundance making  our region back then one of the wealthiest in  Aotearoa.  Once the rush was over many stayed on working hard  to break in the land, feed their families and create multicultural settlements which embraced  a range of  industries.  This rich history  has made Central Otago a unique region which we will showcase during the convention. Come join us from Friday 6th November to Monday 9th November.

On Saturday 7th November and Monday 9th  November we will visit a range of gardens,  celebrate local boutique  industries and  demonstrate  that the golden days are still very much in vogue. The cry that went around the diggings  in those early days “there’s gold in them there hills” is  still as relevant today as it was a 150 years ago – come and   experience for yourself all that the region has to offer.
